<p class="MsoNoSpacing">Tacoma Public Schools has one of the largest populations
of homeless children and youth in the region. Students experiencing
homelessness are negatively impacted academically, socially, and emotionally.
Challenges associated with homelessness increase the risk of students performing
below grade-level and increase the risk of students dropping out of school. </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"> </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">Established in 1987, the Eugene Tone Trust is funded from
community donations intended to support the needs of students experiencing
homelessness by addressing both academic and non-academic barriers that could
prevent a student from achieving academic success. Donations will be used to
allow students to fully participate in school classes and school-related
activities.<span class="p-span">
